Your Invited #2

Hello to all, if your like me you are so glad the weekend is here.  My hubby and I are working at getting the pool and backyard ready for a wonderful summer full of good times.  I took this time to get a head start on an Invite for a get together.  I had this outline of a mermaid for some time so I took to the colored pencils and added a bit of color to her.  She needed some bling so I took some sequins to her tail and boy does she sparkle now.  Don't ya think!!!  I then went crazy with my green shades of memento Luxe inks for some leafage in the background and a toffee color for a few shells.  I attached some seahorse beads and a few shells I shaded in along with a pearl for good luck.

Oh my it looks like someone lost their snorkel and diving mask.  I almost forgot the sand on the bottom of the ocean came from San Francisco, CA.  I used some spray adhesive and sprinkled some sand over a translucent sheet.  Looks like this will turn into a treasure hunt.  Hope you enjoyed viewing this one as much as I did creating it.  Have a wonderful weekend.

Let it Snow

Hello friends and fellow crafter's, I hope your weekend was fun filled and relaxing.  I was busy organizing my craft room yet again and came across some snow flake material I bought years ago so I decided to make a card with it.  Yep with material.  I started by inking the background of the card itself with Ranger's Distress Ink in Dusty Concord and then took a piece of glossy paper and used my alcohol inks along with a white stamp pad and a star burst stamp.  Then I took this piece of material and attached it to the glossy paper.  I used my watercolor pencils to color my little darling and then attached her with some foam squares to the front.  I used my "Let it Snow" stamp and made a tag with a white bow attached, I used a foam square to attach it also.  I hope you like it if so please leave a comment.  Have a wonderful day.

Dare to Dream

Hello friends, well today I attempted to make a card out of a tag.  I used dylusion sprays and tried some shadowing with stencils.  On the inside I stamped the words, "When I grow up... I want to be like you!".  I also lined the inside of the tag with some extra paper I had laying around.  I used some alcohol ink to stain the ribbon just a bit.  As I've stated before I'm new at this and here's proof.  Hope you like it.

Just Because card

Hello friends, it's a gloomy Saturday afternoon here so I thought I would play around in the craft room since hubby had to work.  I started playing around with this doily and cut it apart.  I said to myself, "Self...I could make this work on a card I bet".  I've need a card for that Just Because reason so this is what I came up with.  I stuck with a pinkish theme when using watercolor pencils for painting this Honey Spring Bee Buggmee girl from Lacy sunshine.  Believe it or not the pink strip behind her is a paint sample card in cotton candy.  I added some dimension to the doily's with foam squares under 3 of the circles and then added a little bit of bling.  Hope you like it.

St. Patrick's Day

Nothing like being late for a holiday....we were out of town celebrating hubby's birthday and had a blast.  Now it's time to get caught up.  This is just a quick little card I threw together.  I used Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks on glossy paper along with some 3D Stempel in Gold for the background.  I used watercolor pencils on the girl and sat here in this lucky green top hat.  Hope you enjoy.

Christmas 2014

Christmas will be here before you know it.  This past year I fell short on sending my Christmas cards due to being in the hospital for most of December.  I'm hoping to do better this year in all aspects.

Christmas 2014

Here is a card I was playing around with and tried something new or at least new for me.  Using a Sizzix holly leaf embossing folder, applying Love Letter Red Memento Luxe ink straight from the pad onto the embossing folder first then ran it through my Big Shot. I then used Tim Holt Distress Markers to color in the leaves and berries and some Vintage Photo to age it just a little. Using my cricut December 25th cartridge and cut out the bird using  a red foil paper (which in this photo you can really tell).  I added a bit of bling to the berries and the birds eye and finished it up with stamping Merry Christmas.  Hope you like it.

Birthday

Happy Birthday to my Hubby.  The love of my life is turning a year older tomorrow so I think it's safe to show this card here now.  For those that don't know my darling hubby, well he is like a big fuzzy bear hence the card....
Happy Birthday
This is the Wellington Bear collection set.  I've already sealed his card, after taking this photo I decided to add more layers to the chair and the bear in it.  After he opens it I will post a new photo.

Easter

Howdy ya'll, here's a couple of cards I made for Easter.  I would guess you could use them for just about any occasion.  I used my cricut to cut out the scalloped circles and then trimmed the one for the dress down and used teal colored thread to wrap a design on the dress and added a little bling at the waste line.  The hat was 2 different sized flower stickers that I added to some teal color paper then added a bit more bling along with a tiny bow made from teal thread.  The purse was a small tag folder over into 3rd's and used 1/2 of a small foam square to pump up the purse some and then added the teal thread as the handle and again just a little bling for the closing on the purse.  I made the hanger for the dress out of a paper clip by cutting it down, bending and twisting to form the shape I wanted.  So we now have an Easter dress and hat to wear for Easter.

Happy Easter
Now on the other hand flower's are good for any occasion so I thought a Wheelbarrow full of flowers for Easter would be nice.  On this next card I used the purple paper and cut out a wheelbarrow and with my cricut I made a scalloped edged circle for the wheel.  I took a purple thread and made the spokes for the wheel and used a tiny jewel to act as the nut to hold the wheel on.  Between flower stickers with jewels attached to using a satin flower I filled the wheelbarrow up for Easter.  I hope that everyone has a wonderful time getting ready for Easter, so many things can be made.

I love sharing my work with other's but most important I love to hear what you think of my work.  Please leave any suggestions or comments all are welcome.

Just For You

Howdy ya'll, just hanging out here at the house while hubby is at work and thought I would make yet another card.  Today so far that is, I did not have any "Just for you" cards so I figured it was time to make one.  I love lavender and teal and peacocks so here is what I came up with.  I used my cricut to make 3 different sized scalloped circles in dark purple, lavender and teal.  I used lavender and teal thread to wrap the circles and then put some stickers with a bit of bling in the center.  I added a tag to the front which is held in place by Ivory ribbon.  Hope you like it.

Blue Christmas 2014

Hey everyone.  I'm so looking forward to spring getting to warm things up.  While it's still a little chilly outside I thought I would make a few Christmas cards.  With my days running into nights and my nights running into days, I believe I got carried away with the Blue Christmas theme.  Let me know what you think.

Your Invited

Summer time is coming and with a new home with a pool I'm sure we are going to be having a few get together's.  So I decided to make an invitation.  I used white card stock and 2 scrap pieces of card stock, one is a very dark purple and the other a dainty lavender.

Using my cricut I used the Picturesque cartridge and cut out 2 sets of leaves.  I used Tim Holtz Distress paints in mowed lawn, peeled paint, bundled sage and forest moss to paint the leaves.  I applied a top layer of the Distress crackle paint in clear rock candy and then used a word stamp after that dried.  The flowers are from the Recollections Floral Embellishments.  It's hard to see in this photo but three of the flowers have newsprint on them.  I used a little bling in the center of each flower and a few other spots.  Thanks for viewing my work please feel free to leave a comment.  Any advise is always a good thing.  God Bless ya'll and happy crafting.
