Thinking of you

Hi Friends, this week has been a week of thinking of my parents.  We lost my father 8 years ago on the 25th and 2 years ago my mother on the 26th.  So this week has been hard for our family.  So I though I would do a card that my mother would have loved.  Years ago I started messing around with polymer clay and really started doing very well with it until my father was gone and then it was hard to concentrate.  My mom loved flowers so this one's for you mom.

I used white card stock and used a Dew Drop in Grape Jelly to shade the edges of the card.  Then I used a piece of Vellum with grapes and thoughtful sayings all over for the front.  I then choose a selection of dollar store flower pieces in white and purple for the center I used a brad with pollen like fuzz to attach the flower to the card.  I made a simple tag with "Thinking of you" for the front next to a giraffe that I made out of polymer clay and he is holding yet another flower a lavender rose.  I know my mother would love it and I hope you do also.  Thanks.

Friends Forever

This card has to be dedicated to my sisters.  No matter to big or small they are always there.
Forever Friends

I used just love the light blue and teal with gold.  I used Memento Luxe toffee Crunch to stamp the lattes and butterflies for the background.  Still new at this somewhat and not sure of the maker of the stamp (sorry).  I used the gold sticker lace from the Dazzles Christmas collection to highlight the teal band going across the card.   I always try to find a cheaper way to still achieve that elegant look.  So hubby and I found these flower bundles at the Dollar Tree and thought "demo time"  yes we stripped the leaves and flowers off the stems.  I then used a few flower petals and stacked 4 different size layers for my center piece and held it together with a red brad that I used Liquid Pearls along with some yellow flock to make it look more realistic.  This card is also embellished with a gift of a butterfly pin that can be removed and worn.

The inside caption reads "Sister are the best kind of friends.  Love it!!!  Hope you enjoyed reading and viewing this card.  I would love to read comments good or bad, it's all very helpful and inspires me to (as they used to say at my job) keep on keeping on.  God Bless ya'll and have a wonderful day.

Play Ball

It's that time of year!!!  Baseball woohoo, we love watching our 16 year old grandson play.  I also thought of my daughter in-law Jessica, she is the most dedicated "Baseball Mom" I know.  She is always there for every game and wearing the outfits to boot.  Just love her. This card opened my eyes to just what you could attempt as a newbie to card making.
Play Ball !!

I will try to explain products I used to make this card for you so bare with me here.  The paper's are from the Reflections line.  The baseball I made from regular white card stock and hand drew the stitches and distressed it with Ranger's Distress Inks in Antique linen and vintage photo.  I used a collections of  Red Heart Yarn's tied around the middle and attached to the wire star.   The letter's were a collaboration of tags and my trusty art work.  I used a clip bar with the words "Fun in the Sun" painted on the front to hold the letters "PLAY".  I then coiled some 20 gauge wire to hold the letter for the word Ball.  I then attached the coiled wire with Baseball brads from Recollections.

I lined the inside of the card with a mixture of the papers used on the front.  The puffy baseball sticker is from the Recollections line.  The tag and words are from Paper wishes.  Thanks for viewing my creation and let me know what you think.  Remember still a newbie and any advice is just another branch on my tree of knowledge.  So help me branch out.  Have a wonderful day of crafting until next time.

Thank You note I made for the wound care clinic

This morning I sat down and wanted to make a Thank you card for the lovely nurses and doctor's at the Weatherford Wound Care Clinic for the wonderful care they have taken of me since December.  Long story short for those whom don't know, I had a hernia surgery on December 9th and basically spent the rest of December in the hospital due to a staff infection.  After arriving home on New Year's Eve I have been going to the wound care clinic every week to have my wound vac changed.  Say your prayers that next week will be my last visit with them.
Now to the card.  I used a pastel pink card with a white inside for the base.  I embossed a piece of vellum as well as the front of the card with a Darice embossing folder with butterflies and swirls.  I used colored pencils to fill in the butterflies on the backside of the vellum.  I used some punch out butterflies to embellish the front of the card over what I had colored.  For the inside I used Ranger Alcohol Inks in Salmon, Mountain Rose and Pink Sherbet on glossy paper.  Hope you like it I know the Wound Care Clinic thought the world of it.  Thanks for viewing.

My very late night project

Hello everyone wanted to share one of my very late night projects that I've finally completed.  My Luminous wildflowers.  It took a keen eye and a lot of patients punching holes but it's finally done.  At night you put one of those electric flickering candles in and it really looks awesome.  Let me know what you think.
